Meet The Mets - Fred Norris Remix
This is Artie and his Mets gay bashing at its finest - I love it!
Here’s to the Phillies Organization for a First Class Tribute
I attended Friday’s Harry Kalas Tribute night, and Saturday’s tribute/viewing at the Bank this weekend. I can’t say enough just how classy and perfect everything they did to remember Harry was. I was most impressed that Bill Giles and David Montgomery shook hands with every single visitor Saturday morning and thanked them for coming out. (I made sure to thank them for not setting ticket prices like yankee stadium) It was a sendoff that I’ll never forget, and I’m so thankful that I got to attend. Thank you Phillies.
[album id=29 template=compact]PLAYOFFS?!!?
Okay. The Eagles had a balanced offensive attack, and the Cowboys imploded into themselves like a dying star (although TO has been a dying star for years). Now come the Vikings. People always warn about looking ahead - but I have no reason to believe that we can’t beat the Vikings or Giants. It will come down to Carolina and the Eagles in a rematch - the last time the Birds lost in an NFC championship game. That’s as far into the future as I can see right now. Adrian Peterson - here’s to you and your impending ACL injury.
For the record - The Phillies are still World Fucking Champions.
Marty Mornhinweg Must Die
Well whether you’re an Eagles fan or not, you must be fed up with Marty Mornhinweg, Offensive Coordinator for the Eagles, by now. The blood of fans is boiling in the face of his legendary inability to select plays. Even non-fans have to wince in the face of his wasteful, uninspired, and predictably bad play calls. One has to wonder - is this a sick joke on the city of Philadelphia?
The Eagles have been in many tight games earlier this season: against the Cowboys, Bears, Giants, Redskins, and Bengals. Each one of those games could have turned out differently if not for the pass-heavy play calling. That - combined with McNabb’s pension for jetting passes at receiver’s shoes - resulted in 4 losses and 1 tie.
Over the past 3 weeks against the Cardinals, Giants, and Browns Marty somehow ended up calling a balanced attack. His newfound focus on the rush led to three straight victories - 2 over division leading teams. Brian Westbrook was finally healthy, and was given an oppourtunity to earn the extra cash he held out for. (In fact, I’m surprised the business office didn’t stipulate he get 20 attempts per game minimum just so they would get their money’s worth!)
Tonight against the mediocre Redskins Marty was back to his usual self - as the Birds fell 10-3. When you look at a pass attack that features dropped catches and pass attempts that can often be confused for celebratory spikes - how can you in good conscience continue to call pass?
As the pain train that is this Eagles season continues, the loss of Brad Childress and John Harbaugh becomes more and more apparent. Both former Eagle assistants are coaching playoff bound teams, which begs the question: Is Andy Reid a really a genius coach, or did he just happen to surround himself with the right people during the Eagles semi-glory days of yore?
No matter how bitter I feel about this situation - still… nothing can change the fact that the Phils are World Fuckin Champions!
